Kongsgaard

2001 Kongsgaard, Syrah and Chardonnay, California

Wines that will bring you to your knees and cry Ma Ma! These two are things of pure beauty and once you taste something at this level you understand why so many have a passion for the wine business.

2001 Syrah is a Robert M Parker Jr rated, 96+ point wine. He boasts, " 2001 is the finest yet produced by Kongsgaard. Aromas of white chocolate, ground pepper, blackberries, cassis liqueur and flowers (lilacs?) are followed by a wine of great intensity, a certain exoticism and powerful, thick, huge flavors oozing with extract, glycerin and personality."

2001 Chardonnay is a Robert M. Parker Jr rated 98 point wine. Here he claims " An awesome effort and finest Chardonnay to date..... intense notes of orange marmalade, minerals, lemon oil, and honeysuckle..... the finish lasts for 45 seconds, and tastes like a Grand Cru White Burgundy."

Mouton Rothschild 2000

2000 Chateau Mouton Rothschild, France

One of the most amazing wines from this historic vintage. The bottle is etched and gold inlayed and will no doubt become a collectors item just for that alone. Rated 97+ Points by Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate ( see link below ) and a perfect 100 points by the Wine Spectator ( also see link below ) Yes this wine is expensive, but if you have to ask.........

Sauternes

The Great 2001 Barsac and Sauternes Vintage

Liquid gold, sun in a bottle are great ways to describe these classic and long lived sweet wines of France. These are wines to buy and forget about for many years. Classic to purchase for a special date or a year of a child's birth and saved for 21st birthday as a special treat. Here is a sample of what to expect from these gems as described by Robert M. Parker Jr, of the Wine Advocate, Issue 146, page 45-47

2001 Chateau Suduiraunt
"One of the most remarkable wines made at this estate over the last 30 years.... notes of white flowers intermixed with honeyed peaches and tropical fruits.... (93-96 points)"

2001 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey
"The stunning 2001 boasts complex aromas of honeysuckle, butterscotch, caramel, apricots, peaches and caramelized figs......(91-94 points)"

2001 Chateau La Tour Blanche
"Displaying a remarkable strawberry-like note in its ripe peach and pineapple scented bouquet. This beautifully balanced, full bodied wine possesses great great fruit presence, tremendous definition and large body..... (93-95 points)"

2001 Chateau Coutet
"One of the greatest Coutets I have tasted, with amazing definition, extraordinary vibrancy and force, and sweet, thick, juicy flavors of tropical fruits, peach, honeysuckle and buttered popcorn....
(91-94 points)

Don't miss out on these stunning wines!

La Sirina

2000 La Sirena, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa, California

Small, limited wine produced by a legend in the wine making business.

Heidi Peterson Barrett:
"In 1988, she left Buehler to become an independent winemaker (freelance), making wine for a number of small wineries. Within a week she was hired by Gustav Dalla Valle and was winemaker at Dalla Valle Vineyards until spring 1996. It was there that she took her abilities to the next level, putting Della Valle on the map and creating some powerful yet elegant Cabernets, including the famous "Maya" wine, a proprietary Cabernet blend that received two perfect 100 point scores from Robert Parker ( the '92 and '93) as well as record breaking bids at the Napa Valley Wine Auction. She started making wine for Screaming Eagle in 1992, which has also received two perfect 100 pt scores (the '92 and recent '97). A 6-liter bottle of '92 SE set a world record for the highest price ever paid for a single bottle of wine at the 2000 Napa Valley Wine Auction selling for $500,000. A vertical offering went for $650,000 at the 2001 NVWA. Since 1988 she has developed a stellar client list of super and ultra-premium wineries. She is currently winemaker for Screaming Eagle, Jones Family, Barbour Vineyards, Paradigm Winery, Showket Vineyards, Lamborn Family, and two newcomers Amuse Bouche and Revana Family Vineyards. Past clients include Grace Family, Vineyard 29, and Hartwell/Grace Vineyards."

Barbour

2001 Barbour Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa California

Small production Napa wine, and look see who is the winemaker!

"Winemaker, Heidi Peterson Barrett We are thrilled to have Heidi Peterson Barrett as our Winemaker. Since the beginning, Heidi has allowed the character of the vineyards to shine. Heidi and Jim traipse through the vineyards throughout the year discussing pruning techniques, vine growth, leaf removal and crop load. It is an auspicious team, combining the talents of a premier viticulturist and one of the industry's most highly esteemed winemakers. And while Heidi has been called The First Lady of Wine, Winemaker of the Year, Wife and Mom, we feel fortunate to call her a friend".
